Family Devotional Question For This Week:
1. What stands out to you the most from reading this passage? What did you learn that is new to you from this passage? What did you learn that caused you to remember something you’ve known, or what has been reinforced from reading this passage?
2.What are some surprising truths that you can see and pick up in this passage?
(Potential answers: This passage is teaching us many things about the stark reality of spiritual warfare that is happening right around us every single day – and we hardly ever realize the nature of this battle! David, most alarming to me, said that If we don’t preach Christ (in our words as well as our deeds), then we’re not really ignoring the battle, we’re actually contributing to what the adversary is doing in blinding hearts and darkening minds against the glory and revelation of who Jesus Christ is and what He has done for us!)
3.How can you engage this week in the battle for the hearts and minds of the people right around you FOR the glory of God and AGAINST the evil power that is at work in this world?
(Potential answers: Reflect, especially on the names of those who you are around every day who do not know about the saving works of Jesus Christ that God has offered to them. Think about how grateful you are to know Jesus, be walking with Jesus and have the salvation of Christ for eternity in your life and think about who else around you needs to hear about Christ this week. Realize as well that this is a war that is being waged around us. pray for God to help you and give you the words to speak.)
Prayer Prompts For This Week:
– Pray that we would not be silent about the Gospel of Jesus Christ – how Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, perfect in life and in His ministry on earth, died the death that we deserved in our place, and rose to life again on the third day to reveal to us the truth that He alone can save!
– Pray fervently for God to save the lost souls around us and that God would strategically place someone in our path this week that we can share the Gospel message with! Be intentional in your desire to share and rest on the power of God for help!
– Continue to pray for one another and write down or remember the requests of each person. Either have one person pray over each request, or delegate those prayer requests so that each person prays for something or someone specific.
