What Is the Gospel ?
In Romans 1:16 , Paul says he is not ashamed of the Gospel because it is the power of God for salvation. The word he uses translates to “good news”. What is this good news? It is God’s plan for salvation to lost sinners.
God is Holy and Majestic and He created all things, including you (Genesis 1:1). You have worth and meaning because you are Made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). However because of our disobedience to God, sin entered the world and that brought separation from God and death (Romans 6:23). But God, in His love toward us even in our sinful state sent His own son to die on the cross and pay the price that sin deserves on our behalf (John 3:16). His Son, Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man and that is why He could pay the penalty for sin that we cannot. He solidified His payment for sin by rising from the dead 3 days later and ascending to Heaven where He lives until He one day returns.
What Must You Do?
You must first acknowledge you have sinned against God and have broken His command. Then you must believe and trust in Jesus Christ, His death on the cross, and His resurrection from the grave (Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9). The Gospel is a FREE gift from God and when a sinner comes to faith in Christ, he is a new creation (Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Corinthians 5:17). Do not delay, the Bible says today is the day of salvation!
